Ingredients (for 4-5 servings)

500g of ash gourd cut into pieces (winter melon)


1/2 medium onion into slices


2-3 sliced ​​green chillies


1/4 tsp turmeric powder


1 tbsp curry powder


1 cup thick coconut milk


A piece of cinnamon


Salt to taste


For the coconut paste:


2 cloves of garlic

1 tsp of black pepper

1/2 cup Freshly grated coconut

1/4 cup of water


Making of coconut paste


Put the grated coconut, black pepper, garlic and water in the blender jar and blend well.



Method preparation


Wash and remove the skin of the winter melon.


Cut the winter melon into chunks and remove the seeds. Then cut it into small pieces.


Place the cold melon in the cooking pan. Now to that add chopped onions, green chillies, turmeric powder, curry powder, cinnamon pieces and mix well, and cook the winter melon on low heat until soft and cooked.


Finally, When the winter melon is boiled well, add thick coconut milk and mix well.

Add salt now to your taste.


Now at this stage add the coconut paste we made earlier. Simmer on low heat until the coconut milk is well mixed. When it boils, remove the curry from the heat.


Our ash gourd curry is ready. Now you can taste it. It is very tasty and very milky.
